On 16 July 2026, GPSoverIP GmbH received the official grant notice from the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy at the Bavarian State Chancellery.

What it's about: a common data foundation for rail
Today, vehicle data in rail transport is scattered – different manufacturers, different protocols, different systems. This is exactly where the funded project comes in: a multi-tier aggregation and abstraction layer brings these sources together, normalises them and turns them into a single, unified flow of information.
The result: a data foundation that spans manufacturers and vehicles and can be analysed, visualised and evaluated intelligently.

For around three decades, GPSoverIP has been developing its own telematics solutions. With this funding, the Free State underlines the contribution that innovative medium-sized companies make to the digitalisation of rail transport and to Bavaria as a technology location.
