German Telematics Award 2026
German Telematics Award 2026
GPSoverIP Sweeps the German Telematics Award—Winning Multiple Honors
The German Telematics Award is considered one of the most rigorous industry evaluations in the telematics market. Since 2015, providers have competed every two years to undergo the multi-stage selection process conducted by DEKRA and ETM-Verlag.
For the sixth time, around 40 solutions were entered into the competition. The first step was to complete questionnaires that varied by category, before the expert jury decided which entries would advance to rounds two and three.
In the next step, the nominated providers had to undergo a practical test. As in previous years, established criteria were used—for example, the number of clicks required to reach a result and the time taken to do so. Another criterion is the logical structure of the system—in other words, the user experience. This year, solutions that already use artificial intelligence to automatically import data scored particularly well.
Jury Chair Professor Heinz-Leo Dudek explains: “We continually adapt both the questionnaires and the practical tests.”
The award was presented during the DEKRA Future Congress for Commercial Vehicles at the end of October 2025 at the Vienna House Andel’s Berlin. For GPSoverIP, the evening was a particular success: With six awards, including two gold medals—in the public transit and driver management categories—GPSoverIP is once again among the top winners. This means that GPSoverIP has been among the award winners in every round since 2016.
2024 German Telematics Award
2024 German Telematics Award
The German Telematics Award competition has been held every two years since 2015 by DEKRA and ETM-Verlag. Providers are put through their paces in various categories across multiple rounds of evaluation.
Once again, more than 40 solutions entered the competition, facing several hurdles along the way. The first step was to complete questionnaires that varied depending on the category. During the evaluation by the expert jury, it became clear which of the competing systems would advance to rounds two and three.
In the next step, the nominated telematics providers had to undergo a practical test in their respective categories. As in previous years, established criteria were used. For example, the number of clicks it takes for a user to reach a specific result is counted.
The procedure is literally a stress test for all participating telematics providers. This is because it’s not just a matter of completing the assigned tasks—the elapsed time also factors into the evaluation. Another criterion is the logical structure of the system—often referred to in IT as “user experience”—which is evaluated by the jury. The entire process is tailored to the respective category—a process that literally never ends. This year, for the first time, participants had to demonstrate their capacity for innovation and present their individual developments.

These numbers speak for themselves: 663 companies, 536 online portals, 52,000 customer reviews—and the winner: clickApoint.
The renowned ride-sharing and freight exchange prevailed over numerous other portals and is the winner of the “Germany’s Best Online Portals 2023” award, presented by the German Institute for Service Quality in collaboration with the news channel ntv.

2022 German Telematics Award
2022 German Telematics Award
The German Telematics Award competition has been held every two years since 2015 by DEKRA and ETM-Verlag. Providers are put through their paces in various categories across multiple rounds of evaluation.
The procedure is a true stress test for all participating telematics solutions. As in previous years, proven criteria were used. For example, the number of clicks it takes for a user to reach a specific result is counted. But the time required to do so is also factored into the result.
An equally important criterion is the logical structure of the system—and, with it, the user experience. The entire evaluation is tailored to the respective category—a process that never ends. “Just like the systems themselves, the German Telematics Award is constantly evolving,” explains jury chair Professor Heinz-Leo Dudek from the Steinbeis Transfer Center for Telematics at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Ravensburg, Friedrichshafen Campus.

2016 Innovation Award from the Lower Franconia SME Union
The Lower Franconia SME Union awards the Innovation Prize to three small and medium-sized enterprises in the region that are successful in the market thanks to their forward-looking technologies and products. The focus is on preserving and creating jobs and contributing to economic growth in Lower Franconia. For GPSoverIP GmbH, this is yet another award the company has received in 2016.
The Innovation Award was presented by Jutta Leitherer, district chairwoman of the Lower Franconia SME Union, to the managing director of GPSoverIP GmbH. The award recognizes the high level of innovation with which the company consistently makes a name for itself in the field of telematics. The award recognizes the drive and professionalism with which this small-to-medium-sized enterprise presents itself both regionally and internationally, while continuing to develop in a forward-looking and sustainable manner. In doing so, the company makes a significant contribution to securing Lower Franconia as a business location.
GPSoverIP is a leader in the field of telematics—not only in Germany. Mr. André Jurleit gave a brief presentation at the award ceremony introducing his company and its latest telematics product, the GPSauge IN1 v.2.
2016 German Telematics Award
At a festive gala held as part of the “Commercial Vehicle Future Congress,” the award—presented by ETM Verlag and the expert organization Dekra—was presented.
In the past, GPSoverIP has repeatedly risen to the challenge, submitting its products and services for evaluation and successfully winning numerous awards. This time, the company entered the GPSauge IN1 v.2 into the competition.
The presentation of the “German Telematics Award 2016” for the GPSauge IN1 v.2 now provides lasting confirmation of this approach from an impartial source.
The German Telematics Award, which is being presented for the first time this year, was established by ETM Verlag to create greater transparency in the telematics market.
The GPSauge IN1 v.2 was recognized as a leader in three categories and nominated for the German Telematics Award in the categories of aftermarket telematics for trucks, telematics for light commercial vehicles (OEM and aftermarket), and telematics for specialty vehicles.
2016 European Transport Award for Sustainability
The awards were presented on November 26, 2015, during a festive awards ceremony attended by 160 guests at the Freiheizhalle in Munich. The European Transport Award for Sustainability is presented by the newspaper Transport, a LOGISTRA publication of the Munich-based HUSS-VERLAG.
Following awards in 2011 (for 2012) and 2013 (for 2014), the prize was awarded for the third time this year for the year 2016 and is intended to encourage companies in the commercial vehicle and transport logistics industry to act sustainably.
This year, for the second time as part of the European Transport Award for Sustainability, a special prize was also awarded to companies in the freight forwarding and transport logistics industry for their commitment to environmental protection, resource conservation, and social responsibility.
Mobile Tech Award 2015
The award recognizes the most innovative connected service from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. It honors the fascinating combination of mobile devices, wearables, connected cars, sensors, beacons, and other connected “things” that, through the interplay of hardware and software, create an attractive service.
The Mobile Tech Awards jury, composed of well-known experts from the mobile and Internet of Things sectors, had shortlisted approximately 70 apps across three categories, which were then put to a public vote. The voting, from which GPSoverIP Company emerged as the winner, confirms the telematics manufacturer’s development achievements in the mobile sector in conjunction with its GPSauge solutions.
GPSoverIP Company’s involvement in motorsports gave rise early on to the vision of using mobile technologies to open up new areas and possibilities for the sport. The app serves all motorsports audiences: fans, teams, race organizers, and sponsors. The combination of the GPSauge MI6 telematics system and the racing app offers the ability to visually track the race action. This includes real-time positions of the race cars, as well as information about the teams and the racetracks.
Telematics Market - Telematics Award 2010
First Place for GPSoverIP GmbH and the GPSauge in the Vehicle Tracking Category
The Telematics Award, organized by the magazine “Telematik-Markt,” was presented for the first time at the 2010 IAA Commercial Vehicles show. The Telematics Award recognizes innovative technology. Once again, GPSoverIP GmbH was able to convince a panel of experts of the professional and comprehensive telematics solution offered by GPSauge™ and impress them with its reliable real-time vehicle tracking—thanks to the GPSoverIP protocol.
Numerous innovations—ranging from the further development of existing technologies to the creation of proprietary methods—have already been demonstrated. Bolstered by multiple awards and successes, GPSoverIP GmbH has quickly established itself as a renowned representative of Germany as a hub for technology. Investments in research and technical perfection continue, so that the second generation of the GPSauge IN1 will be unveiled at the IAA Commercial Vehicles as the next step.
Convergators Awards 2008
A total of three awards were presented at this year’s Convergators’ Awards by a distinguished jury, more than 11,000 readers of FOCUS Online, and the approximately 300 guests at the Convergators Gala at CeBIT.
Now in their second year, the Convergators’ Awards are designed to honor figures in the international business community who have made significant contributions to the field of convergence—that is, the merging of media and technology—in the German market. The focus is not on the technology itself, but on the entrepreneurs’ personal qualities.
This year’s double winner is André Jurleit, who won both the “Convergator of the Year” title—determined by a TED vote—and the People’s Choice Award on FOCUS Online. According to the organizers, Jurleit, as the owner of GPSoverIP, impressed the jury with his approach to the intelligent, mobile use of digital geocoordinates for traffic control. “Significantly reducing empty runs by trucks is our primary goal, and in doing so, we’re providing a solution to the growing demand for green IT solutions,” said Jurleit.
Innovation Award – Innovative Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise 2007
GPSoverIP, a web service based at the Hainig Startup Center, won the 2007 Innovation Award in the Hardware category at CeBIT for its GPSauge IN1 product, beating out more than 1,200 competitors. This success by the young team has also impressed GRIBS CEO Reinhold Karl.
The hardware solution, which the jury ranked first, is a mobile navigation device that was unveiled for the first time at the computer trade show; it includes extensive multimedia applications and enables visual tracking without requiring integration into a network. “That’s really exciting,” commented Karl on the presentation by André Jurleit, who demonstrated—by tracking a moving company vehicle in real time—just how precisely its journey can be monitored both visually and through data (such as speed) every second.
The patenting of this combination of tracking and navigation—which, according to Jurleit, is unique worldwide—was funded by the State Trade and Industry Agency (LGA). A new search engine (www.clickApoint.de) makes the solution particularly attractive for commercial users. They can sign up for jobs, enter their current location into the search engine, and thus be found by potential customers—for example, for ridesharing or transportation services.
The award-winning hardware (GPSauge IN1) includes not only a high-quality navigation platform, Internet access, and extensive multimedia applications but also the full location-tracking functionality of GPSoverIP. Some components of the hardware are sourced from Taiwan, but according to Jurleit, it is primarily manufactured in Germany.
2007 German Internet Award
The award went to the GPSauge InOne hardware solution, which was unveiled for the first time at this year’s CeBIT. The GPSauge InOne represents a new generation of mobile hardware. In addition to a top-of-the-line navigation platform, Internet access, and extensive multimedia applications, it offers location tracking via GPSoverIP. However, the GPSauge InOne is not a stand-alone solution; rather, it gains its appeal for users through the new online search engine www.clickApoint.de. Owners of the GPSauge InOne can send their current location to this search engine, allowing them to be found by potential users—for example, for carpooling or transportation opportunities.
The Innovation Award has been presented since 2004 by Huber Verlag für neue Medien as part of CeBIT to recognize outstanding achievements in the small and medium-sized business sector. The focus of the Innovation Award is not on the companies themselves, but on their products. Innovative and interesting products that offer particularly high value and functionality for all small and medium-sized enterprises have the best chance of winning.
The jury selected the GPSauge InOne from a pool of over 1,200 entries as one of the most innovative and interesting solutions for small and medium-sized businesses.
Convergators Awards 2007
Schweinfurt-based entrepreneur André Jurleit has won the Convergators Award for the second time. He entered the competition as project manager of the online search engine “clickApoint.com.” This platform is designed to make optimal use of existing traffic by mapping logistical processes on the Internet.
At the Logenhaus in Berlin, André Jurleit emerged as the winner among the eleven finalists in the Telematics & Navigation category, which he had also won last year. At that time, he was honored for the GPSoverIP technology, which was specifically developed for locating objects.
Incidentally, GPSoverIP is now considered the standard Internet protocol for vehicle tracking. GPSoverIP GmbH is a subsidiary of Netzwerk GmbH, a company founded in 1996 in Schweinfurt.
