GPS - Web Explorer: General Update
In addition to a core update—announced on July 2—that introduced major changes to the GPS Explorer’s backend, the upcoming update on August 8 will also provide users with new, practical features in the front end. For example, a Favorites button has been added to the header area of GPS Explorer Web, allowing users to save connections they use regularly and then access them quickly.
For geozones, in addition to the existing objects (circle, polygon, barrier, lane), a new feature has been added—the ability to enter routes. Routes are defined either by entering addresses directly or by using existing GEO objects. Once set up, you can receive fully automated notifications when your vehicles have driven the routes you’ve defined.
We’d also like to highlight the recent update to the camera feature. Previously, only the driver could take photos using the rearview camera. With the new update, photos can now also be taken remotely (e.g., by the dispatcher via the GPS Explorer). The photos taken are then automatically transferred and displayed in the GPS Explorer’s timeline.
If you do not yet have a camera, please feel free to contact GPSoverIP’s customer service, which will be happy to advise you with no obligation!

Detailed Trip Analysis
As mentioned in the general update, in addition to the new geo-object, there is also a new “Route Analysis” module.
With the Route Analysis feature, recurring trips (e.g., company premises <> Destination X) can be defined and analyzed with just a few clicks. This allows you to record data such as travel time, start time, average speed, as well as detailed departure and arrival times, and much more.
The Route Analysis module can be found under Applications -> Geo-Objects and ideally requires the creation of a geozone beforehand. However, the analysis is also possible based solely on geocoordinates.

Racing App – The New Generation
The VLN Nürburgring Endurance Championship is the world’s largest amateur racing series. Nine times a year, an average of 170 race cars—ranging from production-based touring cars to full-fledged GT3 race cars—take to the track at the world’s most beautiful and challenging racetrack, the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Following the summer break at the Nürburgring, a new and completely revamped Racing App will be released on the App Store. In addition to a new user interface, the range of features has been expanded—specifically for racing teams to make their day-to-day racing operations easier. For example, racing teams can conveniently order necessary equipment and accessories through the integrated shop. The option to share your own account provides even more support. In addition, several enhancements have been implemented for race control and spectators. A tutorial video will follow shortly—you’ll receive a notification in your inbox on the home screen after the update!

With the new "Share" feature, you can upload photos from your gallery directly within the app and send them to the GPSauge IN1. General improvements have also been made. For example, you can now pair with a GPSauge IN1 via Bluetooth with just a few clicks.

Third-Party Integration Expanded
As previously announced in the last newsletter, numerous third-party solutions have been integrated into the GPSoverIP backend. This includes, among other things, various trailer tracking solutions from well-known manufacturers such as Schwarzmüller, Kögel, and many others.
The integration into the front end—that is, the GPS Explorer web and the designated object bar—is now complete. This means, for example, that refrigerated trailers can be displayed using the manufacturer’s telematics system just as easily as with a GPSauge. Specific telemetry values (trailer open, tire pressure, refrigeration temperature, brakes, etc.) are fed into a specialized structure that has been developed over several years for this purpose. To integrate additional telematics hardware not currently offered by GPSoverIP, please contact your GPSoverIP account manager.

Reference to Software Tutorials
If you’re ever unsure about how to use the GPS Explorer or your GPS Auge, please contact us. For example, in addition to the newly created route analysis feature, there have always been functions that analyze downtime and driving distances. To help you learn more about all these features, we offer software tutorials in addition to the hardware tutorials.
