Thanks to ongoing standardization among vehicle manufacturers (e.g., MAN, Mercedes, Volvo, Scania), the integration of telematics systems is becoming increasingly straightforward. Interfaces such as the FMS standard interface now provide access not only to power and CAN data, but also to digital speedometer information and other relevant vehicle data. This significantly reduces installation time, as many connection points are already predefined and the systems can be connected quickly. Effective immediately, development of the High-Level Driver (HLD) will be led directly by the GPSoverIP team. This strategic decision enables us to continuously implement innovations and customized improvements to offer you even greater compatibility and reliability. As a result, the HLD will be better optimized for future-oriented and efficient management of your fleet and expanded to include numerous ERP/CRM emulations.

General Information About the High-Level Driver (HLD):

With the HLD, integrating your telematics data into your ERP or CRM system becomes a quick and straightforward process. The HLD enables you to seamlessly exchange data between your fleet management system and other business processes, which significantly simplifies the management and coordination of your fleet. Installation takes just a few seconds.

Thanks to the user-friendly drag-and-drop feature, data exchange is particularly easy. You can effortlessly exchange data such as images or documents between your ERP/CRM system and telematics hardware—such as the GPSauge—in both directions—quickly and reliably. In addition, the HLD enables important functions such as order transfer and the upload of driver’s license checks and driver card data via stationary readers directly into the GPSoverIP fleet management system (GPS-Explorer). These and many other features significantly optimize your work processes. Particularly noteworthy is the HLD’s already extensive compatibility with a wide range of ERP and CRM systems, including C-Logistic, Dr. Malek, SAP, Transdata, WinSped (LiS), Transporeon, PTV, TachoPlus, ErdProfi, Astrata, Dako, BNS, and many more.

Tire pressure monitoring has been mandatory since July 2024—a good opportunity to remind you how important optimal tire pressure is for the safety and efficiency of your fleet. With the tire pressure monitoring system integrated into GPS Explorer Fleet Management, you’re always on the safe side: The system informs both the driver and dispatch in real time about the current tire pressure and temperature. A sudden drop in pressure or overheating is detected immediately and triggers an alarm, allowing for a quick response.

The upcoming GPSauge OBD update optimizes communication processes, particularly when used in conjunction with the GPSauge mobile app, making data exchange even faster and more reliable. In addition, special optimizations are being implemented that are precisely tailored to the requirements of the new trip log app—which we’ll be introducing to you at IAA Transportation. These adjustments enable more precise and efficient use, making the GPSauge OBD even more powerful and flexible in daily use. 

GPSauge OBD users don’t need to do anything—the update will be installed automatically on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

Another patch is now available for the recently released general update, bringing additional improvements. Of particular note are the optimizations to the AI-based telemetry calculation, which further increase efficiency in certain use cases. The patch also resolves a sporadically occurring error message that can be triggered under certain conditions.

The patch also includes minor graphical improvements and a chipset update for BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), which further enhances performance and stability.

As usual, the update will be rolled out automatically over the next three weeks, starting in calendar week 37. No action is required on your part, as the process is fully automated.
