Starting now, select GPSauge products are available directly through Amazon—a new way to access professional telematics solutions more quickly and easily. As a pioneer in the telematics industry, GPSoverIP places particular emphasis on user-friendly products and an optimized handover process for customers.

The GPSauge OBD, the first GPSoverIP product on Amazon, offers an efficient solution for vehicle monitoring and tracking that is suitable for fleets of any size. Installation is incredibly simple: The telematics device simply plugs into the vehicle’s OBD port and is ready to go in seconds. Fleet managers immediately benefit from precise location data, infrastructure detection (e.g., trailer localization), detailed trip histories, and other features that significantly simplify fleet management. All collected data is available in real time and can be managed centrally via the GPS-Explorer web portal, providing fleet operators with valuable insights into their vehicles’ driving behavior, locations, and diagnostic data.

The GPSauge SUITE app is the central tool for integrating, exploring, and—if needed—expanding the GPSoverIP telematics ecosystem. It provides users with comprehensive, step-by-step guidance—from setup and application integration all the way through to the installation and configuration of their systems. The GPSauge SUITE app assists with setting up the client (in the vehicle) and the host (in the office) and provides a clear overview of all available applications.

Here, for example, the “client” is the unit that collects data, such as GPSauge telematics hardware in the vehicle and/or the driver’s smartphone. The “host,” on the other hand, receives, analyzes, and manages this data—such as GPS Explorer Web (web-based fleet management software).

When the user installs the GPSauge SUITE app, they are guided through the most important steps. These may include creating an account, integrating newly purchased GPSauge hardware, and linking it to the appropriate applications. The app links all relevant applications so that the user can quickly install the modules that are important to them and start using them immediately.

To ensure that third-party hardware can also be used or expanded, the GPSauge SUITE app supports the integration and import of such telematics hardware. 

If no dedicated telematics hardware is available, the GPSauge SUITE app offers, on the one hand, assistance in setting up the smartphone as an active standalone telematics unit (client) by providing instructions for installing the GPSauge Mobile app. On the other hand, users with permanently installed telematics hardware without a display—even third-party hardware—can also gain access to additional features such as order management, communication, driver’s license verification, and departure checks, among many others by linking the installed hardware to the GPSauge Mobile app and a device of their choice (tablet, cell phone, or even the GPSauge TAB).

In addition, the GPSauge SUITE app offers direct access to powerful additional tools such as the electronic logbook, which ensures complete documentation of all trips. With the GPS Explorer mobile—a mobile host—you can flexibly manage vehicle data and monitor it in real time; the GPSauge SUITE also prompts you to install it—ideal for use on the go.

Starting in 2025, GPSoverIP will also provide invoices as e-invoices, allowing you to receive your invoices in digital format upon request. In doing so, we not only offer you a modern and forward-looking solution, but also support the seamless integration of e-invoices into your digital accounting processes. This transition is in compliance with legal requirements and enables you to process and manage your documents more quickly and easily.

With the latest update to GPS-Explorer web, you now have access to numerous new features that make your fleet management even more efficient. One key highlight, for example, is the integration of G-force analysis combined with advanced camera functions in the timeline. This feature allows you to analyze events ranging from simple G-force still image recordings (e.g., using the GPSauge IN1 and a connected camera) to comprehensive AI-powered dashcam functionalities (external AI camera systems… available from GPSoverIP 😉). For example, in the event of G-force violations, still images are automatically captured, while the AI dashcam system detects and analyzes complex scenarios such as cell phone use, signs of fatigue, and rear-end collisions. These enhancements were implemented in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which takes effect in 2025, to ensure the highest data protection standards.

Further optimization: The GPSauge mobile list now displays the currently active job or route—similar to the vehicle list—making it easier to track operations. 

In addition, addresses created in the Webfleet import can now be transferred directly to GPS-Explorer Web with the click of a button, simplifying address management. 

Import from third-party Mix-Telematics is now available.

Among other things, the lane display has also been optimized. When plotting the lane, the vehicle now remains at its current live position until playback begins, which improves clarity. 

A bug that, under certain circumstances, prevented the status history from being displayed for the “Winter Service” trip type has also been fixed, ensuring that the status history is displayed reliably.

A comprehensive update for the Winter Service JobApp will be available in calendar week 49. This major update includes many new features and improvements, such as an optimized user interface for drivers. In addition, new features have been integrated that provide valuable additional data for dispatch analysis. This makes the update an indispensable part of the winter road maintenance process.

To ensure a smooth installation, we ask that you work with our Customer Support team to make sure the update is installed this week. Please be sure to leave the devices powered on during calendar week 49 so that the update can be fully installed.
