New TruckParking Service: Find Available Truck Parking Spaces
Looking for a parking spot on the highway? For many truck drivers, it’s a daily nuisance. Especially in the evening, when rest areas are crowded and the legally mandated rest period is approaching, finding a safe place to park becomes a challenge.
With its new TruckParking service, GPSoverIP is now expanding its navigation and route planning features to include a smart tool that makes life easier for drivers and dispatchers alike.
Real-time data along the route for better planning
TruckParking displays available parking spots along the planned route, including current occupancy data for public rest areas. This allows drivers to see early on where there are still open spots and plan their breaks more effectively. Dispatchers benefit from a transparent overview and can plan routes more realistically—taking into account mandatory rest periods and actual parking options.
Bookable Premium Parking Spaces
In addition to public parking areas, the app also displays certified, bookable premium parking spaces that offer greater safety and comfort. These spaces can be reserved directly, eliminating the need for time-consuming searches and the risk of not finding a spot.
Directly Integrated into Navigation and Telematics
TruckParking is fully integrated into existing route planning and navigation. Drivers don’t need to open an additional app: parking lot search, navigation, and vehicle data all come together in a single system—efficient, clear, and practical.
With this enhancement, the navigation feature becomes an even more powerful tool for drivers and dispatchers: less stress, more planning certainty, and greater safety on the road.
New Maintenance Module
for trains, buses, trucks, and cars

New Maintenance Module
With the new maintenance module, GPSoverIP is expanding its telematics platform to include another tool for predictive maintenance and precise fault detection—suitable for trains, buses, trucks, and passenger cars.
The module is demonstrated in the latest YouTube tutorial using a rail vehicle as an example. The video clearly illustrates how technical anomalies are automatically detected and analyzed. The principle works exactly the same way for road vehicles: Abnormal tire pressures, oil or temperature readings, malfunctions in the trailer, or other relevant vehicle parameters and technical anomalies are automatically detected and immediately analyzed.
This enables repair shops and maintenance managers to respond in a timely manner, prevent breakdowns, and plan maintenance more effectively.
Since the module is individually tailored to the existing telemetry data of each fleet, activation is coordinated with customer support. Together, we review which data is available and how the module can be optimally integrated.

Technical Notice
Actros: FMS and Tachograph Data Affected

Technical Notice: Current vehicle-side discrepancies in Mercedes-Benz Actros models are affecting data transmission via FMS and tachograph interfaces
Dear Customers,
As part of our ongoing system monitoring and technical analyses, two vehicle-related issues have been identified in recent weeks that affect data transmission in certain Mercedes-Benz models. Both cases involve communication via the FMS interface and the connection of the digital tachograph.
These notes are intended to provide technical clarification, as the observed deviations are not caused by the GPSoverIP system or platform, but rather byvehicle-related factors.
1. Connection Issue with the Mercedes-Benz E-Actros (E600 Platform, 2025 Series)
In vehicles of this model series, it was determined that there was insufficient factory-installed wiring in the area of the tachograph connection.
After analyzing several cases, a cable harness that was too short was identified; furthermore, it was connected to the wrong branch of the vehicle’s wiring harness. This results in faulty or missing contact with the digital tachograph.
As a result, remote download via the FMS interface cannot be triggered correctly because the vehicle-side signal connection is interrupted.
If you operate one of these models in your fleet and notice irregularities in tachograph data transmission, this is most likely the underlying cause.
Our Customer Support team will be happy to assist you with the technical diagnosis and, upon request, can arrange for a prompt diagnostic procedure.
2. Transmission Errors at the FMS Interface (Mercedes-Benz Actros, 2024 model year and later)
In addition, a vehicle-side baud rate error affecting the driver information transmission parameter has been identified in newer Actros models.
Specifically, the driver identification number is currently not being provided correctly via the FMS interface. This issue is currently being investigated by Daimler Truck AG in Stuttgart.
According to the manufacturer, a software update to correct the relevant control unit is in the works. As soon as it is available, GPSoverIP will notify its customers immediately.
Until this vehicle update is available, GPSoverIP is providing a validated interim solution that enables the collection of the relevant data points via an alternative, inductive data acquisition point. This ensures that the data integrity of the systems remains intact despite the vehicle-side limitations.
Our customer support team is, of course, available to answer any questions or clarify specific cases.
