“The key to success is to focus on goals, not obstacles.”
We wish you, your family, and your colleagues
a Merry Christmas filled
with joy and peace, and a Happy New Year filled with health, happiness, success, and continued fruitful collaboration.

Update to the "GPS-Explorer web" Cornerstone
GPS-Explorer Web is the cornerstone of GPSoverIP telematics. The GPSoverIP development team is constantly working to provide you with the GPS-Explorer Web-based portal—a tool that offers the greatest value. In recent months, further enhancements have been made, enabling your company to proactively act on the data collected by GPSauge at any time and take appropriate measures.
For example, the completely revamped FMS reporting feature has created a perfected reporting segment that, thanks to a new database structure, effortlessly meets the strategic and operational requirements of fleets of any size. Reporting and analysis functions—such as the driver ranking or the FMS statistics themselves—benefit from this. To further optimize usability, the time selection feature, among other elements, has been redesigned and integrated into all statistics modules. This, in turn, simplifies navigation, provides more space, and thus offers a better overview of your statistics. In the overall overview of the FMS statistics, specific icons can now also be assigned to individual values. Also worth noting is a further expansion in the area of third-party integration. This means that additional telemetry data collected by third-party telematics systems can now be integrated into the GPSoverIP telemetry structure.
True to the motto “Telematics for Every Need,” the focus has once again been placed on universal usability across all industry sectors.
All
of these enhancements and new features will be available to you starting December 22, 2021. You don’t need to do anything else; however, we recommend clearing your browser cache and ensuring you’re using the latest browser version. GPSoverIP currently recommends using Google Chrome. We hope you enjoy discovering these new features.

The German Telematics Award is presented by the expert organization DEKRA and ETM Verlag. To receive this award, the provider is put through its paces in several rounds of testing. Once again this year, GPSoverIP was able to demonstrate that the GPSauge and the GPS-Explorer work together as an unbeatable combination.
On December 10, 2021, GPSoverIP was declared the winner in the following categories:
- Location Tracking
- Asset Management
- Bus / Public Transit
“Given the jury’s comprehensive testing criteria, only those products that deliver in real-world applications win one of these prestigious awards. That’s why we’re delighted to have once again successfully demonstrated our extensive expertise this year. Chipset Update for the Marker App
The consistently positive feedback on the marker functionality demonstrates just how important the additional infrastructure tracking provided by the marker application has become in the field of telematics today. At the same time, the potential of this feature and this technology is far from being fully realized. To ensure users achieve the best possible results with the app’s automatic TAG recognition, GPSoverIP will remotely update the integrated Bluetooth LE LR chip in the GPSaugen devices over the next few days, thereby improving reception quality and increasing the sampling rate. This will pave the way for further innovations.
If you’re also interested in this feature and aren’t currently using it, simply contact us. Your GPSoverIP customer service representative will be happy to explain how you can easily and cost-effectively use the marker function with your GPSauge IN1 or GPSauge MI6 to identify trailers, containers, swap bodies, etc.

Update GPSauge Mobile
The “GPSauge mobile” app is available as a mobile alternative to the GPSauge IN1 and the GPSauge MI6 and is primarily used by subcontractors and temporary drivers employed by companies. In addition to the tracking function, this version of the app also offers mobile order management. This means, for example, that orders can be transferred from headquarters to the mobile version.
An update with expanded features—already familiar from the GPSauge IN1—will be available for download in the App Store and Google Play Store in the coming days. Among other things, this update includes the vehicle-sharing feature. This means that app users can share their authorized vehicle data with third parties. By entering the relevant email address and the desired authorization period, customers can, for example, view the status of their delivery with the touch of a button. Another new addition is the marker function. This allows app users to view markers (e.g., containers)—which were set by other GPSauge devices or by headquarters—and to place, remove, and manage them on the go.
The “GPSauge mobile” app is primarily used by drivers who are temporarily or only occasionally integrated into the company (e.g., subcontractors and temporary drivers) and can optionally be integrated into the vehicle management system for the entire fleet with just a few clicks via GPS-Explorer.
If you have any questions about the “GPSauge mobile” app, please contact GPSoverIP Customer Support or your GPSoverIP account manager.

Neue HLD-Emulation: GPSoverIP connected to ASTRATA
The High-Level Driver (HLD for short) for GPSoverIP for Windows PCs and server operating systems makes it possible to ERP and CRM programs to be easily connected to GPSoverIP telematics, as well as to consolidate telematics data from different manufacturers on a single platform in line with the concept of “convergence.”
With the new update to version 21.7.15, emulation for the manufacturer ASTRATA is now also possible. In addition to the transmission of orders, location requests, and message exchange, the transfer of telemetry data is also possible, allowing, among other things, driving and rest times from various sources (i.e., telematics units from different manufacturers in a mixed fleet) to be displayed uniformly on a single portal. We received this request from one of our long-standing customers, who handles fixed routes for the major corporation “DHL.” The release of telematics data was a fundamental requirement in this case, and GPSoverIP GmbH—in line with its corporate policy—was happy to assist.
Do you also need to integrate with a customer’s proprietary software or, as described here, with a third-party portal? Please feel free to contact us with your inquiry at .

GPSoverIP Wins DMSB Bid
In numerous tests conducted over the past few months, GPSoverIP’s “Cockpit LED Display / Electronic Flag” safety system—which is designed to enhance safety at racetracks such as the Nürburgring—was put through its paces and compared with other systems. GPSoverIP has now been awarded the contract and will officially begin equipping the NLS series and ADAC/Nordrhein racing events (including the 24-hour race) with this additional safety system starting in 2022. For several years now, the German Motorsport Federation (DMSB) has been actively pursuing the digitalization of such a system and investing in the further development of safety. Based on GPSoverIP’s activities in motorsports—for example, at the Nürburgring—over the past 12 years, the DMSB submitted a request to implement this project.
Until now, drivers were alerted only by manual flag signals from track marshals, and Race Control—the nerve center of the racetrack—was informed via radio messages. This is where all relevant information about what’s happening converges, and decisions are made on what to do. Although these procedures have been refined over decades, situations on the Nordschleife can still be difficult to assess under certain circumstances. What was missing was a system that delivers information from track marshals directly to the vehicle. The GPSoverIP system, the “Cockpit LED Display / Electronic Flag,” delivers precisely this information directly to the vehicle—with meter-level accuracy. Further innovations and upgrades are possible through the installation of the system and are already in the planning stages, such as the transmission of automated accident detection as well as reports on track conditions, etc.
The Nürburgring is unique and enjoys a worldwide reputation as the litmus test for the automotive industry. “As one of Germany’s largest and best-known venues, the Nürburgring is therefore also an ideal partner for technical implementations in the field of telematics,” said André Jurleit of GPSoverIP.
